“SURGITE, EAMUS“

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We have been called to a wonderful adventure in the breathtakingly beautiful Tatra Mountains ( Carpathians ) situated in the heart of Europe.
As you know the Carpathians physically divided what Pope John Paul II described as the two lungs of Europe.

We will cross Europe, from Slovakia in the East to Poland in the West, a caravan of Christian scouts d’Europe, a caravan of youths who want to “live“ Europe to the full, breathing it in with their own lungs.
It will be road, sun, rain, wind, sharing, joy, prayers, the Eucharist.

We will learn to know and love each other living this Adventure together; day after day what now seems so far will seem so near. At the end we will feel and be the protagonists of our Union.

Twenty – one languages, Catholics from both eastern and western rites, Orthodox Christians, Protestants, 5ooo youths and adults ARE Europe.

Each and every one of us, through the Units, the Associations and the Union will respond as an individual to the call. If are brave enough to say “YES“, by putting together our “yeses” we will become a living ferment of our faith and Apostles in our lands.

Europe will be our home, our story our walking stick, our eyes HOPE for the people around us.

We will reflect on RS Departure; this is the response of our scouting to the world of today. Everyone who becomes a RS decides to be an Apostle, even alone, everywhere. Working each day to realize the Kingdom of Christ on earth, in our lifetime is the mission of a RS.

What we are going to do will not be easy, we have to prepare ourselves technically, physically, spiritually; ready to live the adventure and spread the Word. I would like to think that Euromoot will be something that goes down in our personal history and in the future you will remember it as a defining moment.

We will start our adventure from the Sanctuary of the Virgin Mary and we will arrive at another sanctuary dedicated to her name; to Her, as all the Union was consecrated in Loudes, we entrust our steps.
